Cadelen walked through the thick flooring of The Spine streching her muscles from a long peacful night. Iylia flew in the skies above scowering the land in search of deer. Two months. It was two months they had spent in this forsaken mountain range since Iylia had hatched. Time flew. A little slower than expected, but it flew. Cadelen practiced her sword skills, it was the only thing worth while doing while she watched Iylia grow. They had even practiced flying in the past week, with a makeshift saddle custom made by Cadelen. She was still experimenting with the saddle and how it best fit and didn't restrained Iylia. She was still growing accustumed to it, but was getting better.
Cadelen sat next to the pond that was their make-shift home for the past two months. Have you found anything to eat? Cadelen asked her pearl dragon, but when to leave The Spine was the only thing on her mind.
Mmm, not yet. The deer are awefully clever today. Iylia turned around the tip of a tree, practicing her acrobatics. Shouldn't you eat something soon? I suspect your getting hungry.
Hunger wasen't the first thing that crossed Cadelen's mind that day. But she now realized her stomach was growling with every ferocity as a wolf. Oh, your right. Come back and we can practice flying while searching for deer. This day seemed irritatinly slow.
Good idea, Iylia angled downward and soon arrived at the clearing with the pond. As soon as she was there Cadelen took the saddle from a hole in a huge oak tree she, again, made herself and fit it on Iylia. She jumped on her dragons side, grabbing a spike and hulling herself up. She already felt the changes the bond with Iylia had made. And it grew more and more everyday.

Cadelen notched her arrow in her bow, aiming straight at the deer in the trees below. Iylia layed dead still at her feet and neither dared to breath. The deer had just come into her sight when Cadelen heard a crunch from somewhere very close. Her eyes swiviled the scenery, Iylia doing the same, and her arm began to quiver. We have a guest.
